NEW YORK, N.Y. -- “My greatest piece of advice is to ask for help and don’t be ashamed,” reveals Sara to Healthy Hollywood about her incredible 50-pound weight loss.
Rue, 32, says she struggled with her weight most of her life, and adds, “It took me a long time to [ask for help] and I wish I had done it a long time ago.”
There’s no time like the present, and by the looks of her newly toned body, Sara did it and is keeping it off.
The “Shedding for the Wedding” host and actress revealed to Healthy Hollywood last night, at Good Housekeeping’s Shine On Awards in New York, that she can’t believe the styles she’s now able to pull off.
“Just the idea I am wearing a one shoulder thing is crazy to me. I would never have done that and felt confident. I would have been worried about back fat, but now I don’t even care if I have any – it’s a total change for me.”
Sara’s slim-down motivation was her upcoming May wedding. Only a year and half ago she signed on to the Jenny Craig program and began her journey. The Jenny Craig spokeswoman reveals she needed a weight loss plan with structure and one that helped her deal with emotional eating. Since July she’s reportedly been on the maintenance program, which consists of cardio workouts and a 1,700 calorie-a-day diet.
“It’s 80 to 90 what you eat and the rest is exercise,” adds Sara. “I never go to the gym. I have a treadmill in my garage and I go out there and watch “The Price Is Right” and it’s all good.”
Life is so good and Sara is so full of healthy body confidence that she even showed off her svelte shape recently in a bikini for a Jenny Craig spot. Sara admits it was terrifying to be photographed in a two-piece, but adds, “I’m glad I did it. Now, I have a full wardrobe of bikinis for my honeymoon.” You go, girl!
