LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Another reality show romance is reportedly over.
Heidi Montag has filed for divorce from her husband of just over a year, Spencer Pratt, People reported.
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Heidi filed for legal separation from Spencer in early June. Now, having officially filed for divorce, Heidi’s lawyer said the former sweethearts are ready to make their split a quick one.
“Heidi has amended her petition for separation and today has filed a petition for dissolution of marriage from Spencer Pratt,” Jodeane Farrell, Heidi’s lawyer, told People. “The couple has agreed they would like their divorce to be finalized in a timely manner in an out of court settlement. Both parties are amicable with each other and over the possibility of finalizing their divorce.”
The blonde cited irreconcilable differences in her move to break legal ties with Spencer, according to the court filing, obtained by Access Hollywood.
Neither Spener nor Heidi Tweeted about the news when it first broke on Friday morning.
Heidi and Spencer, known affectionately to “Hills” fans as “Speidi,” first married in April 2009 in a lavish ceremony filmed for the MTV reality show.
The couple began living separate lives earlier this year, with Heidi moving out for what was – at the time, reported to be just for the summer — to live with a friend, Jen Bunny. The two were planning to film a reality show, but Jen blogged recently that Heidi’s personal life kept her from taking part in the project.
Spencer too seemed to be moving in different directions, lashing out at people on Twitter and turning up in a disguise to “The Hills” finale party earlier this month, a party he was unable to crash successfully.
A rep for the pair and Heidi’s lawyer were not immediately available for comment when contacted by Access Hollywood.
