Heidi Montag, Former 'Golden Girl' & Lindsay Lohan Named 'Least Influential' By Time Columnist
Oprah Winfrey, Sarah Palin, Lady Gaga and former President Bill Clinton were some of the names who recently made Time magazines “100 Most Influential People In The World” list, but things didn’t fare as well for stars including Heidi Montag and “Golden Girl” Rue McLanahan, who made the mag’s “Losers” list.
Time Contributor Joel Stein put the plastic surgery-loving “Hills” reality starlet and the television veteran on his “Least Influential People of 2010” list, which he nicknamed “Losers,” on the mag’s Web site.
Heidi was put on the list for losing her fame, while her husband, Spencer Pratt, also made the cut for getting fired from his managerial role by his wife.
Poor Rue was slammed for not being upcoming “Saturday Night Live” host, Betty White.
“Betty White has usurped all the power from the remaining Golden Girls,” Stein wrote.
“American Idol” veterans Paula Abdul and former co-host Brian Dunkleman got slammed by the writer too.
“Now you have only yourself to judge,” Stein wrote of Paula.
Stein asked his Facebook fans to offer suggestions for the list earlier this month.
“For my Time column: Any suggestions for the list of 100 LEAST influential people? (The Time 100 list of most influential comes out in 2 issues.),” he wrote and some of the suggestions – like ex-reality TV dad Jon Gosselin made the “Losers” cut.
Other stars singled out included Joaquin Phoenix, former Miss California USA Carrie Prejean, Octomon Nadya Suleman, everyone in a “Windows 7 Was My Idea” ad, Michael Lohan, Nicollette Sheridan and Lindsay Lohan, who earlier this year filed a lawsuit against eTrade over their “milkaholic” baby ad, which featured a character named “Lindsay.”
“Things are not good when you’re suing babies,” Stein wrote.
