MARYLEBONE, UK --

Elton John has checked into the hospital after battling the flu for the last two weeks, a source confirmed to Access Hollywood.

The musician is now “feeling much better,” the source told Access.

According to the UK’s Daily Mail, the 62-year-old star entered the King Edward VII Hospital in Marylebone, London, on Friday.

His partner, David Furnish, reportedly spent much of Saturday by his side.

Elton, who performed in Barcelona last Tuesday, reportedly canceled the final leg of his Red Piano tour on Friday, having previously canceled several UK dates due to the illness.

A source confirmed to Access that Elton has canceled three dates in Seattle and Portland on his tour with Billy Joel.

Elton is the latest British singer to have sickness keep him from the stage – former Smiths frontman Morrissey was hospitalized last weekend after collapsing during a solo gig in Swindon, England. He has since resumed his tour.
