Entertainment trade publication Variety has announced the line up for their Third Annual Variety’s Power of Youth event, dubbed the “World’s Greatest Block Party,” on Paramount Studios’ “streets of New York” in Los Angeles on December 5, 2009.
This year’s event, produced in conjunction with Variety’s annual Youth Impact Report, features an exclusive afternoon of festivities and live performances. The day will celebrate a select group of outstanding young entertainers, chosen to receive the Variety’s Power of Youth “@15 Award”*, presented by Best Buy, who, through their efforts have made significant contributions to their chosen philanthropic and charitable causes.

Neil Patrick Harris will be a “Horrible” host at Sunday’s Emmy Awards, Entertainment Weekly reported.
According to the mag’s Michael Ausiello, the “How I Met Your Mother” star will incorporate a “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog”-inspired production number into the awards ceremony.

Harris entered the big leagues with this year’s Tony Awards, using his musical theater skills and easy charm to win over the audience and critics. A phone call enlisting him as host of Sunday’s Emmy Awards (8 p.m. EDT, CBS) followed — which leaves a certain movie ceremony for the hat trick.
