LOS ANGELES, Calif.
Paramount Pictures has moved Martin Scorsese’s “Shutter Island” from an October release date to February, which takes it out of awards consideration for this year.
Studio chairman and chief executive officer Brad Grey said Friday that the scheduling shift from Oct. 2 to Feb. 19 was an economic decision.

Kellan Lutz has already sunk his teeth into the “Twilight” franchise. Now, he may be about to take on a legendary big screen “Nightmare.”
Lutz is in talks to join the remake of the 1984 horror classic, “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

What worked so brilliantly on the page doesn’t work nearly as well on the big screen — at least, not all of it. There’s no doubt that longtime fans will be thrilled to see their cherished graphic novel come to life with the best special effects that a $100 million budget can buy, but more mainstream moviegoers — even those who embraced “Iron Man” and “The Dark Knight” — will likely be bored to tears by an existential superhero story that’s 2 hours and 41 minutes long.
