LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
The spirit of Michael Jackson continues to live on in his music and the “This Is It” documentary – and the King of Pop might also be getting the Cirque du Soleil treatment as well.
According to Showbiz411, the Canadian-based performance group is “heavily courting” the singer’s estate to create a Las Vegas-style show which would use Jackson’s music.
Cirque is reportedly attempting to convince the late singer’s camp that a Jackson-inspired show will have the same success as “Love,” the Beatles-themed show, which is currently running the Mirage Hotel & Casino.
The amount of money being negotiated to secure the rights to produce a Cirque Jackson show is reportedly “astronomical.”
Cirque Du Soleil is currently working on an Elvis-inspired show, “Viva Elvis,” which is scheduled to open next month at the ARIA Hotel in Las Vegas.
