Jamie Foxx Developing Sketch Comedy 'In The Vein' Of 'In Living Color' For FOX
Jamie Foxx is heading back to his sketch comedy roots.
FOX announced on Wednesday that the Oscar winner, who was also one of the standout performers on the seminal FOX sketch comedy show “In Living Color,” is developing a half-hour sketch comedy for the network with comedian and writer Affion Crockett.
According to the network, the project will be “in the vein” of “In Living Color,” the Keenan Ivory Wayans show that saw Jamie and his fellow cast members playing a host of characters like the cross-eyed man hungry Wanda (Foxx), the hefty, pony-tailed Vera de Milo (Jim Carrey), and the gay film critics Blaine Edwards (Damon Wayans) and Antoinne Merriweather (David Alan Grier) in “Men on Film.”
The untitled project will feature spoofed movie trailers, commercials, TV shows, music videos and celebrities, and offer a comedic take on pop culture.
The show will also feature a diverse cast of young comedians.
Fans will be able to get a sneak peek of the new production on March 31 following “American Idol” at 9 PM ET.
The show will have its official premiere on June 9 at 9 PM.
