LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Gerard Butler hasn’t had to apologize for starting sexy rumors over the summer that he was getting it on with his “The Bounty” co-star, Jennifer Aniston.

“She has the best sense of humor,” Gerard told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson on Tuesday at the junket for his new film, “Law Abiding Citizen.”

In July, when asked to clear up the rumors he was dating Jennifer, the Scotsman told Shaun, “No, we’re not. We’re just f***ing!” (Click HERE to view that clip)

And on Tuesday, Gerard said Jennifer wasn’t offended in the slightest by his remark.

“She totally gets it,” he told Shaun. “She just did a press junket for her movie and she said she was asked the same question the whole time and she was like, ‘Well I’m going to keep you guys guessing.’ She has fun with it too.”

While the rumors are bound to start up again when “The Bounty” hits theaters in 2010, Gerard is presently focusing on his newest project, the thriller “Law Abiding Citizen,” with Jamie Foxx, which hits theaters on October 16.

”[It has] a little bit of blood, a lot of suspense and a lot of shocking moments, and that’s what we were really aiming for in this movie,” Gerard, who not only stars, but is a producer of the film, said. “But [the blood is] never gratuitous. It really always comes out of the story and out [the] character and it leaves you, like even now talking about it, I’m like on the edge of my seat.”
