LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
It’s a First Lady fashion tour de force as the Obamas take England by storm! While President Obama attends the G-20 Summit, his gorgeous wife has been stealing the spotlight with her overseas ensemble.
“I think Michelle Obama’s trip to Europe is really her coming out party to the world,” says Mary Tomer the founder of www.mrs-o.org, which is dedicated to following Michelle’s style. And what a coming out party it’s been!
Departing for England, the First Lady donned a Thakoon custom ivory tweed coat and a black Michael Kors dress. Then it was a change for her arrival in London! Exiting Air Force One, Michelle went back to Jason Wu, who she put on the map with the white off the shoulder gown she wore to the Inaugural balls! This time she chose a Jason Wu chartreuse empire waist dress, which she accessorized with an Azzedine Alaia belt. Completing the outfit, a sleek black Michael Kors coat.
Next up: Michelle proved yet again that she’s one of us, going with J.Crew, one of her favorite affordable retailers! She went for Spring pastels in a $298 hand beaded cardigan, $18 cotton tank top, and $158 dazzling-dots pencil skirt for a hospital visit with Britain’s First Lady! According to J.Crew’s Creative Director Jenna Lyons, the cardigan is already sold out. But check out the other items at www.jcrew.com.
It’s not everyday that one has tea with the Queen of England and Michelle certainly showed up in proper style. She chose an ivory and black Isabel Toledo dress (the same designer that created her yellow Inauguration Day suit) paired with an Azzedine Alaia cardigan and naturally, a double strand of pearls. Michelle then showed off her trademark toned arms, losing the cardigan for the First Lady Dinner at 10 Downing!
