LOS ANGELES (November 14, 2006) — Jay-Z will take the stage at the 2006 American Music Awards stage in his very first prime-time performance since stepping out of the spotlight three years ago, it was announced today.
The hip-hop superstar will perform the lead single “Show Me What You Got,” from his latest solo LP, “Kingdom Come.”
Also gracing the AMA stage will be three-time American Music Award winner Barry Manilow, who will perform songs from his hit album “Greatest Songs of the Sixties.” Other performers announced today include Lionel Richie, John Mayer, Snoop Dogg and Jamie Foxx.
They join an already impressive lineup including Beyonce, Carrie Underwood, the Dixie Chicks, Gwen Stefani and Nelly Furtado.
Among the celebs lined up as presenters will be Nicole Richie, Paris Hilton, Ashlee Simpson, Katharine McPhee, William Shatner, Carmen Electra, Taylor Hicks, Clay Aiken and cast members from “High School Musical.”
The 2006 American Music Awards air Tuesday, November 21 on ABC.
