Jennifer Lawrence's Skin Secrets! (Healthy Hollywood)
Jennifer Lawrence has been making the rounds lately promoting her latest flick, “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.” Aside from her adorable pixie cut and stunning red carpet looks (hello Dior gowns!), we can’t take our eyes off her flawless, hydrated skin.
It’s no secret that winter takes a harsh toll on your skin. Between the cold air outside and the heat turned up in our homes, our skin can dry out fast.
But fear not!
There is a way to stave off parched skin and keep your face glowing like Jennifer’s through the holidays and beyond.
Oil cleansers have been around in Japan for decades, but they’re just now getting their time in the US spotlight. Healthy Hollywood sat down with Jane Park, CEO and Founder of Julep, to fill us in on cleansing oils and winter skincare.
Hearing “oil” and “facial cleanser” in the same sentence sounds terrifying, but it’s actually one of the best cleansing methods around, according to Jane.
“There’s no reason to be scared of cleansing oils,” says Jane. “Even if you have oily skin, cleansing oils help to balance and clarify your skin.” Likewise, if your skin is on the drier side, cleansing oils penetrate deep to moisturize- just be sure to exfoliate!
“Moisturizing is tricky because without exfoliating, your moisturizer can’t penetrate your skin and hydrate it. Instead, it’ll sit on top which isn’t doing any good,” according to Jane. “We created the Konjac cleansing sponge enriched with charcoal that exfoliates without being too harsh. This extra step helps the cleanser penetrate deeper and your moisturizer will be more effective.”
With its Rosehip seed oil and Green coffee bean oil, Julep’s Bare Face Cleansing Oil helps to remove dirt, oil, and even stubborn waterproof mascara in one easy step. Its moisturizing properties will leave your skin feeling fresh and clean. Even though oil cleansers are moisturizing, it’s important to follow up with a daily moisturizer to keep skin in optimal shape, just like J. Law.
