Jennifer Love Hewitt On Getting Married, Having Babies & How Hollywood Is ‘Like High School’

LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Late last year, “Ghost Whisperer” star Jennifer Love Hewitt became engaged to boyfriend Ross McCall. A year later, they’re still planning the wedding and during a visit from Access Hollywood’s Nancy O’Dell to the CBS show’s set where Jennifer was making her directorial debut, the star revealed some wedding details.

“Have you gotten your dress?” Nancy asked.

“I have,” Jennifer confirmed. “It’s very simple. I was not one of those people that wanted like 900 buttons up the back and craziness. I was like, ‘Just zip me in it and call it a day.’”

Ross is Scottish and it appears his heritage will factor into the wedding.

“Yeah, he’s wanting bag pipers,” Jennifer told Nancy.

But he’ll be leaving one Scottish tradition out of their ceremony.

“No kilt,” Jennifer confirmed.

Though his traditional Scottish dress is out, it’ll be a big yes to a future with children.

“I promise you that, when that happens,” Jennifer began referring to pregnancy news, “[You will be] the first to know and you get to do all the stuff… as long as you don’t call me fat.”

Jennifer is understandably sensitive when it comes to weight issues after being scrutinized by the tabloids last year when she and Ross took a vacation in Hawaii. And, as a result, Jennifer was quick to jump to the defense of “Dancing With the Stars” professional Cheryl Burke who faced a similar controversy in recent weeks.

“I really felt for her,” Jennifer said. “She’s a great lady and she actually sent me a very nice e-mail.”

Jennifer received the e-mail because she previously defended Cheryl in public.

“You know, the entertainment industry feels like high school some times and they always pick on the — they have to pick on somebody,” Jennifer said. “And you sort of have to be able to just brush it off.”
