LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
Move over Rachael Ray, Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz – Oprah has a new protege in her media empire and she’s not afraid to make you laugh!
Actress Jenny McCarthy, who has become a frequent guest on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” has inked a deal with Oprah’s Harpo Productions, Access Hollywood has confirmed.
“We have a devolvement development deal with Jenny McCarthy,” a rep for Harpo said in a statement released to Access. “We are exploring possibilities across a variety of platforms - including her blog on Oprah.com.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jenny’s deal includes her own syndicated talk show.
On the actresses’ blog, which launched on Friday, viewers can read about Jenny’s “Give It Up Before Summer” challenge, where the actress is chronicling her quest to remove sugar from her life.
“Cramps, crabbiness, bloated and gorging on food describe the last nine hours of my day. Wow, it’s really hard when you have PMS. Part of letting go of something sweet makes me feel like I have nothing sweet in my life,” Jenny blogged on Sunday. “Yes, I can look at my beautiful child and awesome husband (yes, I call him that) and know that I have sweetness living with me, but I can’t necessarily have them as dessert.”
Jenny, a former Playboy model and host of MTV’s dating show “Singled Out,” also wrote the best-selling books “Louder Than Words: A Mother’s Journey in Healing Autism” and “Mother Warriors: A Nation of Parents Healing Autism Against All Odds.”
She has been a longtime outspoken activist on autism, which her six-year-old son, Evan, was diagnosed with in 2004.
