Jillian Harris Gives Ed Swiderski’s Home A Makeover

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Caption Ed Swiderski and Jillian Harris at the Venexiana Spring 2010 Fashion Show in Bryant Park in New York City on September 11, 2009 “The Bachelorette” star Jillian Harris is getting ready to move in with her fiance, Ed Swiderski – but first, she had to clean up his “bachelor pad.”

“When I first saw it, there was a lot of brick and dark brown leather and wood,” Jillian explained to People. “I tried to keep it masculine, but I replaced some of his dark brown cushions with some cream and light green to lighten it up a bit.”

That wasn’t all — the star said she hit up “Pottery Barn, Z Gallerie and Bed, Bath and Beyond” to shop for Ed’s one-bedroom condo in Chicago, which the couple will share starting September 14.

And it wasn’t just the colors that needed an update.

“There were socks and underwear lying around the place,” Jillian said.

But for Ed’s part, he told the mag he was pleased with the changes.

“I liked it,” he said of the makeover. “There are things I like but would never go out of my way to shop for like pillows. I just don’t do that. But I like it a lot.”

While the couple got close during the fifth season of “The Bachelorette” earlier this year, with the move, they’re looking forward to starting their lives together away from the cameras.

“I can start [having] a real life again,” Jillian said. “I’m looking forward to some sort of normalcy –- making dinners, waking up early, cleaning house. It’s perfect.”
