LOS ANGELES, CALIF. --

Late-night talk show host/comedian Jimmy Kimmel will return to host the “2008 American Music Awards,” marking his fifth time as host. The live broadcast will take place at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Sunday, November 23 at 8 PM ET on ABC.

“The AMAs reflect pop culture through music, while at the same time celebrating the fans and audiences,” said Orly Adelson, president of Dick Clark Productions, producers of the awards show. “We are delighted that Jimmy Kimmel will be joining us once again to emcee the AMA’s. Jimmy is a masterful host with incredible spontaneity and wit; audiences can expect a great night.”

“I agree with Orly completely,” Kimmel added.

Performers on the live special will include Pink, plus the Jonas Brothers, among many more to be announced in the weeks to come. Nominations for the “2008 American Music Awards” will be announced on October 14.
