CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler confirmed to Access Hollywood on Friday at the Television Critics Association Winter 2011 Session in Pasadena, Calif., that the much-talked about, but seemingly sidelined variety show, which was originally confirmed at the TCAs in 2009, isn’t dead at the network, as had been thought.

“I was with him — there was a thing that he did… last week for just kind of trying out some new music. He’s very [into his] new album, [and his] new music, so once he has time — I mean this is like the busiest man in music, so once he has time, we’ll hopefully get back in,” she said.

Tassler confirmed that they haven’t given up on the potential program, which was the singer’s idea, and Tassler previously described as a “music/variety sketch show,” but it’s still in the development phase.

“We have stuff in development; you don’t even want to know what we have in development… It’s like, ‘Didn’t you do that eight years ago,’” Tassler laughed.
