The brother band has postponed its May 17 tour stop at Arena Monterrey in Mexico back to July 31 “due to health concerns around the country resulting from the outbreak of the H1N1 flu,” a rep for Live Nation told Access Hollywood in a statement.
“Although the situation is stabilizing, Jonas Brothers and Live Nation do not want to cause parents and families any concern over their children attending the concerts,” the rep continued.
The band is embarking on a world tour in support of its latest album, “Lines, Vines & Trying Times,” due on June 14.
The JoBros were slated to play two shows on May 17. Tickets will be honored at the new shows, which will be at 3 PM and 7:30 PM on July 31. Demi Lovato is scheduled to open.
The illness hasn’t just affected musicians – the launch of films “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” “Terminator Salvation” and “Star Trek” were all delayed in Mexico over similar concerns. As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Hugh Jackman will promote “Wolverine” in Mexico City on May 26 after his previously scheduled appearance was canceled.
