NEW YORK, N.Y. --
Now that Jay Leno has left late night TV for primetime, is another late night war brewing between David Letterman and Conan O’Brien? If so, it’s clear where Julia Roberts’ allegiance lies.
Julia repeatedly grilled Letterman about his March 19 marriage to longtime girlfriend Regina Lasko during her visit to the show on Tuesday night, but the actress’ biggest dig might have been aimed at new “Tonight Show” host Conan O’Brien
“I don’t know if I can look you in the eye anymore,” Julia said. “Last time I saw you, you were single and then I like hypnotized you in my white suit or something and you went off and married Regina! I’m curious about a few things… did she take your name?”
“Yes, she did,” he answered.
“So, she’s Mrs. Letterman?” Julia poked.
“No, she’s Dave,” Letterman deadpanned to an outburst of laughter from Julia and the audience.
.
“You’re funnier married! He’s so funny.” Julia said, adding an apparent dig at Conan. “You are so much funnier than other people who talk at this time of the evening.”
“Oh now now now, leave him alone,” Letterman told Julia. “Hey, knock it off. That’s very sweet of you. That’s very nice of you.”
“It’s true!” Julia exclaimed.
