LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Julia Roberts is basking in the glow of motherhood – but is the 42-year-old actress now developing her skills as a future clothing designer?

“They are really angelic and wondrous,” Julia told Oprah Winfrey in an episode of “The Oprah Winfrey Show” airing on Monday, when asked about her three kids. “My favorite thing is just watching them wake up and watching them realize the day come upon them. It’s just… I don’t know, it’s fascinating to me.”

The actress said her five-year-old twins, Hazel and Phinnaeus, and two-year-old Henry, are still amazed with the world.

“That’s the thing about being new to the world - you’re just so present and impressed with everything. The older you get and the grumpier you get,” she said of her three children with husband Danny Moder. “They’re in the car, [and say,] ‘Look at the tree!’ Everything is exciting.”

The “Eat, Pray, Love” star – which opens in theaters on August 13 – said she’s taken up a new hobby to ensure that she stays sharp.

“They say that your brain starts to get mushy after 40, along with your tush,” Julia said of her new sewing hobby. “I made some big pillows for the kids and some really some simple pants for Danny… so simple pants, so simple pants people!”
