Julianne Hough has definitely left her ballroom days behind.

The blond beauty has hopped from foxtrot to feature films and her next project will see her starring alongside Tom Cruise in the big screen adaptation of “Rock of Ages.”

“I get star stuck over everybody, it’s just, I don’t really show it,” Julianne told Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush on Thursday at CinemaCon 2011 in Las Vegas. “Honestly… he’s one of the most welcoming people you’ve ever met. Looks you straight in the eyes — like through your face!

“He was so great,” Julianne continued of meeting the superstar. “We sat there, talked about the script. I’m excited because what everybody’s been saying about him is he’s the hardest working person you’ll ever meet. He’s so invested in it. Nobody will work harder.. and to me, I love that adrenaline of having to keep up with somebody. For me, it’s like, ‘Oh! This is gonna be so fun.’”

The dancer-turned-country-singer-turned-actress added that while she was a little star struck meeting Tom, she put on a brave face.

“It’s like, I gotta show him I’ve got some balls,” she said. “I’m not gonna sit there and not say anything. I gotta interact. He’s amazing.”

Julianne was unable to confirm the rumor that Diego Gonzalez Boneta has scored the lead part in the Broadway musical-turned-big screen venture, but she did reveal she met the Latin heartthrob.

“I did meet him and he’s beautiful,” she told Billy. “He’s got like a cleft in his chin, he’s a movie star… He’s very hot and really, really great actor and amazing singer, so it’d be great.”
