Julie Benz Heading From ‘Dexter’ To ‘Desperate Housewives’

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Caption ‘Dexter’ star Julie Benz looks fabulous in black on the SAG red carpetJulie Benz is heading for “Desperate Housewives,” according to Entertainment Weekly‘s Michael Ausiello. The star will reportedly take on the role of Debbie, a stripper with a Master’s degree in education given the opportunity to take her career in a different direction in Wisteria Lane. Julie’s “Dexter” character, Rita, was murdered in the Showtime drama’s Season 5 finale in December. She played Dexter’s girlfriend, and later wife, on the series.
