LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
A Miley by any other name just didn’t sound as sweet – so it’s officially adios to Destiny Hope.
The tween superstar officially changed her name to Miley Ray Cyrus on Thursday morning, Access Hollywood has confirmed.
A Los Angeles Superior Court judge approved the name change petition, filed on behalf of Miley by her parents.

“My family had always called me Miley and my dad called me Miley Ray,” Miley previously told Access Hollywood of plans to change her name.
So as Miley is about to get behind the wheel, she’d like to stick to just one name.
“I am getting my license, so instead of having a thousand different names on it, just having Miley Ray, which is also kind of cool because my name and my dad’s names look alike,” she added.
The petition, filed by parents Leticia and Billy Ray Cyrus, states that the “Hannah Montana” star wants to “make her commonly used name the same as her legal name.”
