Justin Timberlake
overview
Teen idol-turned-superstar pop singer/dancer Justin Timberlake was born on January 31, 1981 in Memphis, Tennessee. It seems like he’s always had music in his blood and spent his youth singing in the choir of his childhood Baptist church.
In 1993, he moved to another choir of sorts when he was chosen to join Mouse Mates Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Ryan Gosling on “The New Mickey Mouse Club.” During the show’s last year he took another step along the teen idol path when he was asked to join up with a just-forming boy band which adapted the moniker, ‘NSync.
The rest, as they say, may be history. Justin and the other band members were blasted to superstar status almost from the moment of their first release. Although it seems like, ultimately, the group dynamic wasn’t for Justin — he set out on his solo career in 2002 with his first release “Justified,” and then his follow up, 2006’s “FutureSex/LoveSounds.”
