NEW YORK, NY --

Contrary to reports, Kate Hudson’s New York City home was not the location for an arrest of an armed person.

Reports began surfacing earlier today that two men were spotted on the roof of a NYC building, which Hudson lives in. One of the men was reportedly holding a rifle.

According to NYPD, two men were taken into custody at 41 Kings Street, downtown. Hudson does not live at the address, authorities stressed to Access Hollywood.

The men actually reside at the location, the NYPD told Access.

The two men may have had a "toy rifle," according to the cops, but that is still under investigation.

They claimed to be filming a movie, however a camera was not found when they were approached by the NYPD.

The men also said they were students, but that has not been verified.

Police are "still questioning" them.

A rep for Hudson was not immediately available for comment.
