Katherine Webb is engaged!
The former Miss Alabama, who garnered national attention after catching the eye of ESPN announcer Brent Musberger at a football game early last year, is set to marry AJ McCarron, University of Alabama’s quarterback.
“WE’RE ENGAGEDDD!!!” Katherine Tweeted on Friday night, along with a photo her embracing her soon-to-be groom.
The 24-year-old, who has modeled for Sports Illustrated and competed on ABC’s reality diving competition, “Splash,” later shared a close-up shot of her new diamond sparkler with the proud caption, “He designed it himself.”
And the fun was just getting started for the couple, who got engaged at the Beach Club restaurant in Gulf Shores, Ala., according to Twitter witnesses.
The model shared another photo of an extravagant cake celebrating their engagement, complete with a replica of AJ’s football helmet, as well as Katherine’s pageant sash.
“This cake is incredible! I couldn’t have asked for anything better for my engagement. Thank you @CouturecakesAL!” she captioned the photo.
Katherine and AJ, 23, began dating in 2012.
