Pfeiffer appeared at the Berlin film festival Tuesday with “Cheri,” directed by Stephen Frears, in which she stars as a 1920s lady of leisure who strikes up a relationship with a much younger man, played by Rupert Friend.

More than five years after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer, Kathy Bates is going public to say she’s now cancer-free.
Bates told NBC’s “Today” show that she’s been “in total remission” for five and a-half years.

Joel and Ethan Coen scored their biggest opener to date by raking in $19.4 million in ticket sales for “Burn After Reading” and helping end a seven-week attendance slide at theaters, according to studio estimates Sunday.
The madcap comedy starring Brad Pitt, George Clooney and John Malkovich raked in $7 million more than the writing-directing duo’s last box-office hit, the 2004 comedy “The Ladykillers,” according to box office tracker Media by Numbers.

A ‘TITANIC’ TRIO : And finally, some casting news. announces that yet another “Titanic” alum has been signed on to Sam Mendes’ “Revolutionary Road” for DreamWorks. Kathy Bates, who played the unsinkable “Molly Brown” in “Titanic,” will reunite with former co-stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet for the new movie. Bates will reportedly play the woman who sells a young couple (DiCaprio & Winslet) their new home and introduces them around town in the 1950’s-set drama.
