The charmed and beautiful actress Katie Holmes made her world debut on December 18, 1978 in Toledo, Ohio. The youngest in her family of five, she’s always had a strong and determined personality.
Katie attended an all-girls school. At the tender age of 16 she was already an accomplished model, poised to take New York by storm. But modeling just wasn’t challenging enough for the scrappy teen and soon she hooked up with an agent who convinced her to go to LA, where she auditioned for her first movie role, in Ang Lee’s “Ice Storm.” And she got the part!
But it was her role on television’s “Dawson’s Creek,” as the sultry tomboy Joey Potter, that secured her fame and cemented a Hollywood career at the same time. She was appearing in her school’s production of “Damn Yankees” and couldn’t make the audition date for “Dawson’s” without letting down her school. So she told Hollywood they would have to wait, and wait they did!
Katie tied the knot with superstar Tom Cruise on November 18, 2006, in the midst of what can only be described as a paparazzi frenzy. The Hollywood royal couple has one daughter together, Suri.
