Keith Urban Scores First No. 1 Album

Keith Urban and the one and only Prince were both vying for the top spot on this week’s Billboard chart, but only one could reign supreme.

Urban’s latest album, “Defying Gravity,” ultimately won the battle, selling more than 170,000 copies in its first week. While the Aussie has previously hit the No. 3 spot on the Billboard 200 with “Be Here” and “Love, Pain and the Whole Crazy Thing,” “Gravity” marks the first No. 1 album for the country crooner.

Not far behind, Prince ‘s three-disc “LotusFlow3r/MPLSoUND/Elixir” collection, which includes an album by protege Bria Valente, sold just over 168,000 copies. The release is only available for purchase at Target and on the legendary singer’s website.

Rounding out the top three is Diana Krall with “Quiet Nights,” which bowed with 104,000.

On the digital download front, the latest Black Eyed Peas single, “Boom Boom Pow,” blew away the competition as the most downloaded single with more than 464,000 downloads.

Lady GaGa and her “Poker Face” are sitting pretty at No. 2 with 228,000 downloads, and Flo Rida’s “Right Round” is still going strong in the number three spot with 165,000 downloads.
