LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
Kelly Osbourne suffered a minor foot sprain while competing on Monday night’s “Dancing With the Stars,” a rep for the celeb confirmed to Access Hollywood.
Kelly was dancing the paso doble with professional partner Louis van Amstel when a buckle hit her foot causing a minor sprain and a contusion, her rep said.
The injury affected Kelly, her fellow competitor Melissa Joan Hart told Access.
“I was backstage doing the quick change for the hustle when she came back to do her quick change and she was pretty upset,” Melissa said. “She really hurt her foot. It kept happening in rehearsal and stuff and so I think they just went for it [on Monday]. She got hurt. Hopefully she’ll be able to recover, keep her foot up for a few days and be better for next week.”
As a result of the injury, Kelly was forced to dance the group hustle barefoot.
She was taken off to the hospital following the conclusion of Monday night’s show.
But, according to Kelly’s rep, she will be fine to dance next week.
“Kelly’s a trooper, she’s a fighter,” Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who filled in for an ailing Derek Hough last night, told Access. “She takes little stumbles and turns them into great performances the week after, so you know, she’ll do amazing next week.”
And while Kelly is on the mend, another “Dancing” star confirmed he is back in action – Derek — who said he has recovered from the flu.
“I had [a] 105 [degree] temperature and I was in the doctor’s [office],” he said of the illness that knocked him out of rehearsals last week and kept him from performing on Monday night. “But I’m OK. I’m alright.”
Derek also revealed that he didn’t have the H1N1 virus.
“It wasn’t swine flu,” he said. “But I’ve never experienced anything like [the illness I had] before… I tested negative for swine flu but the test is only 50 percent so the doctor said I still might have it but I don’t think I do.”
And Derek added he will be dancing during Tuesday’s “DWTS” Michael Jackson tribute.
“Absolutely we’ll be there for the tribute and we’re excited about it,” he said. “We’re excited to do something like that for him.”
