CAMROSE, Alberta --
It was a close call for Kevin Costner and his band Modern West at a Canadian music festival over the weekend.
Costner and the band were getting ready to perform when the stage caved in. One person was killed and about 75 others injured in the accident Saturday.
Costner’s manager says he and Costner were caught underneath the stage, but “wiggled” their way out. They weren’t hurt.
The Nashville-based Billy Currington band was playing when the power went out and the stage fell. One band member was pulled from the wreckage with a badly injured arm.
The last day of the Big Valley Jamboree in Alberta was canceled yesterday following the tragedy.
It’s billed as Canada’s largest country music festival.
