NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. --
Despite a report that Rihanna was in New York City over the weekend taking meetings for various movie projects, reps for the pop star denied she was in town looking to land a movie role.
According to The New York Daily News’ Gatecrasher, Rihanna had multiple meetings for potential features while in New York, one of which is a remake of 1992’s “Bodyguard,” which starred Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner.
A source claimed the remake would be a “young and sexy take” on the original, with “G.I. Joe” star Channing Tatum playing Kevin Costner’s role.
“Before the situation with Chris, Ri was getting a lot of scripts. She’s been wanting to do movies for a while now,” said the paper’s source. The pop star is also reportedly considering working on the “Charlie’s Angels” sequel as well as a film project with Justin Timberlake.
When contacted by the paper, reps for Rihanna denied she had taken meetings on the potential movie projects.
