Kimberley Locke Helps Auction Clothes Off ‘Idol’s’ Back

-- LOS ANGELES (May 14, 2007) — Fanjayas or Doolittlians who are dying to get that much closer to their favorite Idol or former “Idol” contestant now have an opportunity to do just that.
Former American Idol season 2 contestant Kimberley Locke has partnered with the Clothes Off Our Back Foundation to auction off clothes and accessories worn by a host of the Fox shows contestants.
Wardrobe pieces from all of this seasons top 12, including Sanjaya Malakar, Jordin Sparks, Phil Stacy and Blake Lewis will line up alongside clothes from Ruben Studdard, Clay Aiken, Kimberley Caldwell and Josh Gracin for The Kimberely Locke & Idol Friends online charity auction beginning May 21.
The website www.ClothesOffOurBack.org will feature the items as well as pieces from Carmen Rasmusen, Anthony Federov and Idol judges Paul Abdul, Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson. Ryan Seacrest has also made donations for the auction.
Additionally, fans can also bid at the website for autographed merchandise and on a chance to meet this season’s finalists during stops on the American Idol Live tour.
Proceeds from the auction will benefit Camp Heartland, a non-profit aimed at benefiting children and their families who are suffering from HIV/AIDS, poverty, grief and other painful life challenges, a release stated. Also benefiting from the auction? The Childrens Defense Fund, Autism Speaks research division and the emergency relief efforts in Darfur.
