L.A. Reid recently dove into Michael Jackson’s unreleased music archives and came up with eight songs for MJ’s new album “Xscape”. Now, Reid talks to Access’ Shaun Robinson about the first time he met the pop star when he was summoned to Neverland Ranch.

Tell me about the first day you stepped on to neverland ranch. I landed in a helicopter, landed on the property. I got out and they handed me a nondisclosure because Michael was very private. Signed it, got on the golf cart, drove to Michael's house. Went into his library and waited for him and I stared at the door, the same door I walked through waiting for him. He never came through that door. He came through a secret door. There's Michael and he walks in and says hi, how was your helicopter ride? I said it was turbulent and he said you were scared and he started laughing at me and then he started talking about music and it was great. The whole time I was, like, that's Michael Jackson. That's Michael Jackson. And, you know, it was one of those pinch yourself moment, right? Did you go with babyface? Yes. The three of us. He was showing us the house, room by room, art piece by art piece and it was magical. Tell me about the song. When it was reworked for "Escape" it originally included a track from Justin Bieber. ♪♪♪♪ ♪♪♪♪ What happened to Justin Bieber's version? Justin is my guy. You know I signed Justin, so I feel a loyalty, and I feel like I should protect him, and my relationship with him, but "Slave to the rhythm" didn't include him for my direction. That was done separate and apart from it and it was released. If it hadn't been released, it would have been featured, but it sort of took a wrong turn, but you know what?
