LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian are legally married, at least that’s what the LA Lakers star told the media at today’s team press day.

“It was real,” Lamar, 29, told reporters on Tuesday, according to the Los Angeles Times, about his nuptials to the reality star.

Reports have surfaced on the Web since Lamar and the reality star’s wedding on Sunday, suggesting the nuptials were less than legally binding. However, Khloe’s publicist told Access it absolutely is “legal.”

“It’s crazy how perception works in America when you’re looking at things from the outside,” Lamar continued. “‘It might be off, it might be on.’ But anybody that was there will tell you that it was a beautiful event and it was real.”

Lamar also shot down rumors that he married the 25-year-old celeb as part of a publicity stunt.

“I don’t need that. I get enough with the Lakers,” he said, according to the Associated Press. “I do well for myself.”

The basketball star insisted sometimes love you find fast, can last.

“There’s people who’ve been married for 25 years and they get divorced,” he continued. “There’s people who get married overnight and the next thing you know they’ve been married 25 years.”

The wedding will be featured on “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” on November 8 on E!.
