Nell Scovell, a former writer for “Late Night With David Letterman,” has penned an essay about her experiences working for the CBS program.
In an article for VanityFair.com, Scovell, who notes she was “the second female writer every hired at ‘Late Night,’” and one of only seven female writers reportedly hired in total at the show, said when she worked at the show, many of the things Letterman revealed in his recent address to the public were happening in the late ‘80s.

First lady Michelle Obama is going to be serving up answers on “The Jay Leno Show.”
NBC said Monday that Mrs. Obama is set to respond to 10 “rapid-fire questions” in a comedy bit with Leno. She’ll participate via satellite from Washington.

The newsman accused of blackmailing David Letterman about his sexual affairs told the TV host that his “world is about to collapse around him,” according to newly released court documents.
CBS News producer Robert J. “Joe” Halderman allegedly told Letterman in a package of materials he sent that he had “a lot more” documents to back up his threat and needed to “make a large chunk of money,” the court files say.

Before he was Don Draper, Jon Hamm was involved with some far racier projects, the “Mad Men” star confessed on “The Late Show With David Letterman” on Friday.
“There’s always that fallow period in any actor’s life,” he explained. “My most proud moment in that phase of my life, I worked behind the camera on some special projects – as a set dresser. So I would move all the props around. It was sort of on the low end of the Hollywood spectrum.”
