MIAMI, Florida

Paris Hilton is on trial in Miami, accused in a federal lawsuit of not doing enough to promote her 2006 sorority hijinks movie, “Pledge This!”

The lawsuit filed on behalf of some film investors claims the 28-year-old Hilton didn’t honor her contract to promote the DVD release. The lawsuit seeks more than $8 million from Hilton and her entertainment firm.

Michael Jackson’s longtime attorney and a family friend should take over the pop singer’s estate, a judge said Monday.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff issued his ruling after a court hearing Monday morning. Attorney John Branca and music executive John McClain had been designated in Jackson’s 2002 will as the people he wanted to administer his estate

Following the news that Perez Hilton had filed a lawsuit against Polo Molina, the road manager for the Black Eyed Peas, stemming from an incident following the MuchMusic Video Awards on Sunday evening in Toronto that left Perez with a cut under his eye, the sharp-tongued celebrity blogger apologized for his use of a anti-gay slur during the altercation.

Perez also said he has reached out to former “Grey’s Anatomy” star Isaiah Washington, who he condemned on his blog for using similar language towards his former co-star T.R. Knight.

A federal judge says actor Morgan Freeman and the woman suing him over a car wreck should submit settlement proposals to the court by July 15.

Demaris Meyer claims the 71-year-old Oscar-winning actor was negligent when the car he was driving ran off the side of a rural Mississippi highway in August. Meyer was a passenger in the car when it flipped several times. Both of them were seriously injured.
