LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

A judge in Pennsylvania has ordered Jon Gosselin to return $180,000 from his joint bank account with Kate Gosselin, a lawyer for Kate told Access Hollywood.

“In response to an emergency application filed by Kate Gosselin on October 5, 2009, the Honorable Arthur R. Tilson of the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas entered an Order today directing Jon Gosselin to return $180,000 in marital funds, which he removed in violation of an arbitrator’s order,” Kate’s lawyer, Mark Momjian, said in a statement.

According to Momjian, the court ordered Jon to repay the amount by October 26 or face contempt of court.

“The remaining sum of $55,000, which Ms. Gosselin used for household bills and expenses relating to the children, will be subject to further determination by the arbitrator at a later date,” his statement continued. " The judge also ordered Ms. Gosselin to provide an accounting of past expenses also by October 26.”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, the dueling estranged couple appeared in court on Tuesday morning in hopes of settling a financial dispute related to monies Jon removed from the couple’s joint account.

Kate has alleged that Jon removed a total of $200,000 from the former couple’s joint bank account. However, Jon has denied his withdrawals were inappropriate and fired back at Kate asking her to account for more than $100,000 in withdrawals she has made.

Following the court proceedings, Kate issued a statement to Access.

“As difficult as this has been for me, I am pleased that the court has ruled fairly on behalf of myself and my children. Now that this matter has been ruled on, I look forward to returning to private arbitration, as we have agreed to do, to resolve any remaining issues,” she said.

A rep for Jon was not immediately available for comment.
