LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

He may have made a major impact on the judges, but on Tuesday night, Aaron Carter was finally sent home from the “Dancing” ballroom.

Aaron and his professional partner, Karina Smirnoff, missed out on next week’s “Dancing With the Stars” semi-finals round due to their elimination, but the young man remained positive about his time on the ABC reality competition show.

“One thing I will always remember and take from this competition is the lessons I learned,” Aaron said before turning his comments to the judging panel. “I’ve grown so much with your compliments and your criticism, so thank you for helping me be able to grow on this show.”

And Len Goodman, who Aaron in an earlier week likened to a father-figure, made the unusual move of addressing the pop star with an emotional speech on the live show before his final dance.

“I think the dedication that you have shown week after week is absolutely fantastic. You’re an inspiration to all young people that anything is possible and if you were my son I would be so proud of you,” Len said. “But more important, you be proud of yourself, because you’ve been great.”

In addition to Aaron’s elimination, the show also made headlines for the first live stateside performance from “Britain’s Got Talent” breakout star Susan Boyle, who sang an emotional “I Dreamed A Dream.”

Next week, the remaining celebritiesMya, Kelly Osbourne, Donny Osmond and Joanna Krupa will continue competing on the path to the “Dancing” mirrorball.
