John Stamos has blamed a wacky appearance on Australian TV on alcohol.

“When I went on that morning show, I was drunk,” the star told The Advocate of his 2007 appearance on the Australian talk show “Mornings With Kerri-Anne,” in which he insulted a Daily Telegraph reporter.

Stephen Gately, a singer with the Irish boy band Boyzone who made headlines when he came out as gay a decade ago, has died while on vacation in Spain, the group said on its Web site Sunday. He was 33.
