Liberty Ross Talks Marriage With Rupert Sanders: My Husband Is 'Gone Most Of The Time'
Two weeks before Kristen Stewart and Rupert Sanders admitted to cheating on their significant others, Liberty Ross opened about her past marital woes with her “Snow White and the Huntsman” director husband, Rupert.
“Moving here [from London to LA] and starting a life all over again was a lot harder than I had anticipated. I just didn’t think it would be as isolating and daunting as it turned out to be,” the 33-year-old model/actress told YOU Magazine, according to the Daily Mail. “I can honestly say that it took me five years to feel happy here.”
Liberty explained that raising the couple’s two children, ages 7 and 5, was difficult as her husband’s career took off.
“I would never say out loud that I am raising my children alone, but a lot of the time it has felt like that,” she reportedly said. “I went from the glamour of working with Karl Lagerfeld and John Galliano to living on an isolated hilltop with my husband gone most of the time.”
Despite uprooting their lives and dealing with career stress, two weeks ago Liberty – who played Kristen Stewart’s onscreen mother in “Snow White” – said she felt as though their marriage had endured.
“But that’s why everything feels so amazing now. We rode through the really hard times and we stuck it out,” she continued.
Following the news of the cheating scandal, Liberty sent a series of Tweets before deleting her account.
“Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together,” she reTweeted a Marilyn Monroe quote, followed by Maya Angelou quote reTweeted, “If you find it in your heart to care for somebody else, you will have succeeded.”
Liberty then simply wrote, “Wow,” and deleted her Twitter.
On Wednesday, Rupert also issued a public apology after Kristen released one, where she stressed how much she loved boyfriend Robert Pattinson.
“I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family,” the director said in a statement to Access Hollywood. “My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together.”
