Zac Efron reportedly could be spinning gossip rather than basketballs, for his next character on the big screen.
According to E! Online’s Marc Malkin, Zac is considering playing the lead role in the big screen adaptation of “Spin,” a new novel from first-time fiction author Robert Rave. The novel is due out August 18.

Barbra Streisand has finished building her dream house and started to think about her life.
The singer, director and actress has reached an agreement with Viking for “A Passion for Design,” an illustrated book scheduled for fall 2010 that includes photos of the Malibu, Calif., oceanfront compound she worked on for more than five years, and of other residences, back to her early years in New York.

Amy Sedaris is preparing more literary laughter.
The actress and comedian is working on a follow-up to her best seller, “I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence.” The new book, currently untitled, will come out in 2010 and will again feature “her unique approach to home life through the use of fun, long-forgotten crafts,” according to Grand Central Publishing, which announced the book Thursday.

“Angels & Demons” doesn’t hit the big screen until May 15, but author Dan Brown has just finished the manuscript for the third book in his Robert Langdon series. “The Lost Symbol” is due on shelves September 15, 2009 and Sony’s Columbia Pictures is already set to continue the franchise, Variety reported.
The third Langdon book will have an initial print run of 5 million copies. Second novel “The Da Vinci Code” is the best-selling hardcover adult novel of all time, with 81 million copies currently in print worldwide.
