NEW YORK, N.Y. -- While thousands of fans are clamoring to see “Twilight” star Robert Pattinson on “Saturday Night Live,” it won’t happen this season, OK! reported.

Almost 5,000 fans of the British heartthrob have signed an online petition asking for Robert to host the NBC sketch comedy show, but executive producer Lorne Michaels told the mag that their slate is full.

“We’re all locked in with hosts for this year,” he said. “Not this season.”

But, he added, there’s always the future.

“Yeah, yeah, of course,” he said, noting that it would remain to be seen if the actor would make a good host. “You never know.”

Robert is currently filming the sequel to “Twilight,” “New Moon,” and fans can look forward to seeing him as Salvador Dali in the drama “Little Ashes,” opening May 8.
