They may have tied last week for the top spot, but on Monday night’s “Dancing With the Stars,” Mya and Dmitry Chaplin were in a league of their own.
For the show’s third week of competition, the duo stepped things up, stealing the spotlight with a sexy rumba. Their moves, fast and furious, left all of the judges marveling and left the pair with the first perfect 10s of the season – from judges Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli.

“Dancing With the Stars” returned to television on Monday night with a big two-hour season premiere, and at the end of the night, a pop star made a big leap into the lead.
The male celebrities competing this season were the only ones taking to the dance floor with their professional partners on Monday and it was Aaron Carter, younger brother of Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, who topped the leaderboard with his partner Karina Smirnoff.

Tonight is THE night! Nerves are flying all around as tension mounts. I’m sitting in the trailer having my hair done with Kathy, Kelly and Karina in the chairs around me. Everyone seems very excited but also a little like “Deer in Headlights.” Now that the Emmys are over, all focus here is on tonight and tomorrow for the beginning of our amazing adventure. Tonight the men will dance and the ladies will chill but then Tuesday we switch. All I want is to be able to be calm and enjoy this time while it lasts.

The season premiere of “Dancing With the Stars” is a little under a month away, but already several days into their practice routines, the celebrities and their professional partners are revealing what they have coming up for their first round of competition.
On Thursday, pro Lacey Schwimmer and Food Network host Mark Dacascos confirmed to Access Hollywood that their first dance will be the cha cha, performed to “Kung Fu Fighting.” In addition to hosting “Iron Chef America” on Food Network, Mark is a champion martial artist.
