Charity Event Honors Maria Shriver, Quincy Jones

Rod Stewart, Halle Berry, Jane Fonda, Tom Hanks and Raquel Welch were among the stars on hand.

Shriver and Jones were recognized Saturday at the annual Carousel of Hope ball in Los Angeles, which raises funds for the treatment of pediatric diabetes. Philanthropist Barbara Davis hosted the event at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, where Jay Leno served as master of ceremonies and Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony and Gladys Knight performed.

Hanks’ wife, actress Rita Wilson, called the private dinner party “the highlight of the charity season in our city of angels.”

Davis and the annual charity event have raised more than $75 million for diabetes.
