Matthew is teaming with FOX to develop an animated TV series based on the life of his older brother, Mike “Rooster” McConaughey, according to Variety.
“Rooster Tales” will reportedly follow the adventures of a beer-drinking, redneck sheriff who marries a younger woman from Mexico. However, the man soon sees his wife comes with a catch – her 114-member family.
“My brother’s life is so unbelievable, we had to animate it,” Matthew told the Hollywood trade paper.
The real-life Rooster will also executive produce the series with his brother.
However, this isn’t Rooster’s first Hollywood venture – he appeared in the TruTV reality series “Black Gold.” He also had a small part in Matthew’s 1998 film “The Newton Boys.”
Rooster previously earned headlines in 2006 when he named his second child Miller Lyte McConaughey.
