LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
UPDATE: On the heels of Heidi Montag endorsing John McCain for President, McCain is responding to the unlikely backing by the reality star.
"I'm honored to have Heidi's support and I want to assure her that I never miss an episode of 'The Hills,' especially since the new season started," McCain told the Swampland blog on Time.com.
In an endorsement no one could have seen coming (or… really cared about, for that matter), reality television vixen and aspiring pop star, Heidi Montag, has endorsed John McCain for President in the 2008 election, Us Magazine reports.
"I'm voting for John McCain," Montag told the magazine. "I'm a Republican and McCain has a lot of experience."
As for any effect Heidi political musings might have on other voters, very little, according Heidi's boyfriend and former manager, Spencer Pratt, who told Us, "I don't think anyone cares who Heidi Montag votes for."
No word if John McCain even knows who Heidi or any of the other "Hills" stars are, but the user-generated video Web site, Heavy.com, might come in handy if McCain decides to take advantage of his latest endorsement.
As previously reported by Access, Heavy.com has transcribed every episode of Heidi's reality series from last season and found senior citizens to recreate your favorite "Hills" moments for a series called, "Over The Hills."
Though McCain has only just begun to consider who is running mate might be, "McCain and Montag in '08," certainly has a nice ring to it.
