Meet John Mayer

Caption -- LOS ANGELES (September 1, 2006) — He’ll soon be on primetime TV performing on “CSI” this fall. But most of us know John Mayer as the Grammy-winning soulful pop singer and lately, but lately he has a new title ? Jessica Simpson’s new man.
The 29-year-old Mayer burst onto the scene in 2002 with his first album, “Room For Squares.”
“It’s flaccid rock. It’s not acid rock ? it’s flacid rock,” Mayer joked with Access Hollywood in 2002.
He also put himself in the Hollywood spotlight that year with a reported romance with Jennifer Love Hewitt.
“The ladies like me,” he laughed. “Not every lady thinks I’m the bee’s knees but, you know, maybe it’s because I say things like ‘the bee’s knees.’”
Perhaps it’s John’s charisma that first attracted Jessica.
