LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
Melanie Griffith has entered a rehab facility, according to a rep for the actress.
“She is there to reinforce her commitment to stay healthy,” her rep, Robin Baum, told People. “This is part of a routine plan that was designed between her and her doctors years ago.”
Star magazine reported that the actress, who is married to Antonio Banderas, is at the Cirque Lodge in Utah, the same location that previously treated Lindsay Lohan.
A source told the magazine, however, that the actress is at the facility to take care of some issues and help her marriage.
“She’s working with the counselors on getting control of her demons,” the source said. “The reason Melanie checked in was her husband was demanding that she get clean and sober.”
Griffith, 52, has previously been in rehab. In 2000, she was treated at the Daniel Freeman Hospital, in Marina Del Ray, for a painkiller addiction, E! News reported.
She previously was in rehab in 1988 at the Hazelden Clinic, Radar Online reported.
