Melissa Rycroft’s neck injury didn’t stop her from turning out a stellar performance on Monday’s “Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars.”

Despite herniating her discs in her neck during rehearsal (an injury that resulted in a trip to the hospital on Sunday) Melissa was well enough to compete on Monday. Along with her partner, Tony Dovolani and the members of her team dance, she took part in a high-scoring pep rally-themed performance to Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe,” garnering a 29.5 out of30 from the judges.

Access caught up with Melissa after Monday’s performance, where she dished about her weekend mishap.

“I was sliding through his legs. I had momentum going forward, my feet got stuck, I think on the rubber [of] my tennis shoes and it stopped my momentum, but my neck just continued and jammed backward and it cracked a few times,” she said.

The 29-year-old said she immediately felt the effects of her dancing gaffe.

“I definitely felt it right way,” she continued. “[The doctors] said that what I felt was disc fluid leaving my neck and that caused the sharp pain.”

Adding, “It’s very scary.”

Before her performance, Melissa told the judges and audience, “I’m on a little medication right now… “[But] I’m officially cleared to dance.”

“DWTS: All-Stars” returns Tuesday at 8/7c with no elimination this week.
